💡 Why Not All Furniture Works in a Space: My Approach
From building my own furniture collection to staging homes every day, I’ve learned that not every piece fits every space. Here’s how I approach it:
Houses Aren’t Magazines
Every home we stage is beautiful, but they’re not always newly renovated or perfectly maintained. They’re not design icons — and that’s okay. The goal isn’t to impress others, it’s to help buyers imagine themselves living there and get the deal closed.
Prepare the Background
This is why stagers ask for a blank, decluttered space. Neutralizing walls, clever paint choices, and removing personal items turn even a mediocre condo into an inviting, interesting space.
Stick to Classic Furniture
Classic pieces are timeless, sustainable, and versatile — they work across multiple homes and can be reused again and again.
Be Careful with Vintage
Unique vintage pieces are beautiful, but they require the right home to shine. A one-of-a-kind chair may not work in a new build — context is everything.
My Go-To Style
I rely on wood and neutrals — they’re warm, timeless, and fit almost any property.
Budget & Expectations
Always consider what your budget allows and align it with your staging goals. Clever choices can maximize impact without overspending.
Bottom Line
Not all furniture works in every space. By preparing the background, choosing versatile pieces, and respecting the home’s character, you create a space that sells itself. 🏡
