📣 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Jennii and I are very excited to announce our new business partnership. Ms. Whimsy’s is going to have big changes coming!! The gift shop will be at the front of the space and the back 2/3rd’s will become a fabulous creative space called “The Venue”. The Venue is going to be a space that can be rented by the public to teach workshops, classes and seminars or hold private meetings and events.
Jennii has lots of experience teaching classes and has begun putting together a summer schedule. I look forward to taking my creative energy and teaching future classes too!
We are well past the planning stages and are working hard to get everything ready for an early August reinvention and reopening!

Ms. Whimsy’s and Rebel Vintage Clothing will be open until July 25th (the night of the Downtown Night market).
Then we will be briefly closed from July 26th until Aug. 4th for the change over.
Ms. Whimsy’s and The Venue will be back open August 5th.
The Venue’s website is nearly complete, and we will be sure to let everyone know when it is. That is when we will be able to take bookings from all of you wonderfully creative and knowledgeable people in our community that want to share that with others and make money doing so.
AND then that will mean all of you wanting to take classes, learn, create and have a blast doing so, will be able to sign in and sign up!

Stay tuned Kamloops!! Exciting things are coming!!

PS-if you could share this with others, we can make sure we reach all of the great people in our community that have been looking for a space to share, teach, create.

Back from a lake trip hiatus, we’re bringing you the next round of events coming up, with events from Yours, Monthly plus a couple that didn’t make it in.

We’re trying something different this week and sorting out the events by date rather than category; What do you prefer? We’re always shuffling things around to figure out how to best serve the community in the most accessible way with our current resources.

How are we feeling about the QR codes? Did you like the shortened URLs we had before that were written out? Any feedback is helpful feedback!

Are you chronically online and always tapped in to what’s happening around town? Reach out if you’re interested in helping compile each month’s events list. We’re also on the lookout for folks interested in helping out in the creative department for the magazine, as well as journalists and writers.

Yours, Monthly looks a little less noisy for July. We've gone with a high-contrast, easy-to-read, and minimalistic look for this issue... or our Editor went on vacation and didn't have adequate time to make it pretty! Your pick! 😅

Our Local Star this month is photographer extraordinaire Jess Beaudin with a truly editorial self-portrait as our cover image. We have all the usual suspects as well, such as Dine Out With Ni, Ryan from Kamloops' Podcast Recap, and a plethora of Local Events.

Published live now on thelocalloop.ca/yours-monthly to read in browser or download as a PDF. We'll also be posting the articles and events throughout the month to keep you up to date. Tomorrow morning is July's first week events!

Coming at you with a double feature from our local foodie Niamh, we’ve got a 5 page mouth-watering spread detailing her dive into Maurya’s Restaurant, Bar, & Banquet. Wait until you hear about the cocktails!
Following that (and in this post too!) is a 2 page mini feature on our favourite indigenous restaurant: Kekuli Cafe. Don’t panic, they have bannock!

Happy Indigenous History Month Kamloops, and don’t forget to check out the Indigenous People’s Day celebrations at TteS Arbour on June 21st from 10am to 4pm.
