Mayor and Council cut the ribbon for the opening of the new City Park walkway. Thanks to City staff for delivering this project on time and on budget. This Beautiful new seperated pathway is for pedestrians and bicycles. This renovation also incudes the restoration of the lakebed. The City paid for this from Development Charges (DCCs) billed to new construction. The City's growth has generated these funds to develop our park system for all to enjoy.

YLW Departure Lounge Expansion: I attended the public grand opening of the YLW extended terminal. The airport is owned and operated by the City of Kelowna. It is now the 9th buisiest airport in Canada. This is one of many YLW improvement projects underway at the airport. The new parkade and hotel are also under construction. It also just announced direct flights to Ottawa with Porter air. The airport keeps getting better and better. It plays an important role in the Okanagan's economic growth.

Kelowna City Council honoured Gold metalist Olympian Jerome Blake in Council Chambers on September 23, 2024. Jerome grew up in Kelowna and trained for many years in our City. Jerome, and his team mates, secured the 4X100 relay race gold metal in Paris this summer. We were all very excited to see him and get a chance to hold his gold metal.
