We traveled approximately 1,140 km by train from the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh to the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin with a mission. At the Species Discovery Lab, we are analyzing around 4,600 Diptera specimens collected in Peru. Our goal is to extract DNA and sequence the COI mitochondrial gene, allowing us to cluster them efficiently and accelerate the identification of new fungus gnat species. Vic Limay
