"Daniel masterfully fuses the vibrant energy of 1990s and 2000s graffiti culture with contemporary digital illustration and character design. In Talk is Expensive, this distinctive approach is clearly evident. The piece presents a nocturnal urban scene infused with a sharp cyberpunk edge, yet retains a playful, cartoonish sensibility. The composition is highly dynamic, conveying a powerful sense of information overload. The central character appears both empowered and overwhelmed by an array of communication tools, offering a perceptive commentary on the modern attention economy. It captures the paradox of our age: while words themselves have become ‘cheap’ through constant talking, posting and reacting, the supporting infrastructure, time and mental resources come at a significant cost." -
