I celebrated my birthday at a Lebanese restaurant, surrounded by dear friends who have stood by me through a deeply challenging time. It was a true moment of quality time, a chance to celebrate life itself, and to honor the people who have embraced me like family, holding me with their kindness and making this difficult period a little lighter.

My husband chose the Lebanese restaurant knowing how much my heart has been with those living under relentless bombardment. It became more than just a place to gather, it was a quiet tribute to a rich and beautiful culture, and to people who, as the restaurant owner shared, have learned through hardship to cherish life more deeply. To find joy in the simplest moments, to stay present, and to hold onto one another with care, because life goes on, and we never truly know what comes next. 🤍

For over four decades, the Islamic Republic has brought death, destruction, and relentless pressure to the people of Iran. War will only deepen that suffering, bringing more devastation, more loss of life, and more hardship. In times of conflict, the regime tightens its grip, increasing repression, raising the number of arrests and executions, and further silencing its people.
No war has ever delivered true freedom, democracy, or meaningful change for any nation.

I write this for the record, so it is not forgotten.

Vast resources and political capital were invested by Trump and Netanyahu in shaping, redirecting, and ultimately hijacking the Iranian people’s revolution in January 2026, normalizing war, promoting the narrative of "regime change," and packaging intervention through phrases like "help is on the way," "humanitarian intervention," and "targeted bombing."

This was not accidental. It was a sustained effort of propaganda and manipulation, designed to mobilize thousands of ordinary, hopeful Iranians across cities around the world, bringing them into the streets to chant "Trump, take action."

And so, under the illusion of liberation, and seemingly backed by a segment of the people, war began, and continues to this day.

The result? Countless lives lost. Families shattered. Critical infrastructure destroyed. Historical sites damaged. Oil storage facilities, refineries, and petrochemical plants targeted, leaving behind toxic air and long-term environmental devastation. And yet, the same regime that has oppressed people for decades remains, continuing to take lives and darken everyday existence. This is what has been left for the people.

Still, Trump stands today, speaking with pride, carrying forward the same narrative, the same manipulation, the same propaganda.

Reflection:

When Trump was elected president for a second time, I remember discussing it with friends how, despite so many lies and empty promises, he returned to power. A dear friend said something that stayed with me: he is a master of manipulation and propaganda. It has worked for him before, and as long as it continues to work, he will keep using it.

Sizdah Bedar, the 13th day of Nowruz, is a Persian tradition where people go outdoors to nature symbolizing release, renewal, and letting go of negativity. It is a day to breathe, to reconnect, and to tie and untie knots as a gesture of hope and wishes for the future.

But this year, as Iran carries the weight of anxiety, conflict, and uncertainty, this tradition feels deeper.
Today, we untie knots not only for our personal wishes, but for the peace of a nation, for people who deserve life, safety, Freedom and joy.

May this day remind us that even in the darkest times, hope still flows through the veins of this land. 🌱🤍

Iran is my heart, and Norooz reminds me of roots that remain alive within me no matter how far I am from its soil, a moment when the scent of spring awakens hope and memories of home in my heart once again.

This year, as my heart beats for Iran more than ever, I find myself thinking with tearful eyes and a worried mind about a land with thousands of years of life, culture, and civilization that seems to be falling deeper each day into the shadow of suffering and destruction. And yet, with all my being, I hold on to Nowruz, to life, and to hope.

For me, celebrating Norooz is not merely a tradition; it is a reminder that this beautiful land, its rich cultures, and the people who have struggled for generations to protect it need compassion, humanity, support, solidarity, human rights, and justice now more than ever.

Norooz reminds me that even in the darkest days, life still finds a way to bloom.
