“Believe in love. Believe in magic. Hell, believe in Santa Claus. Believe in others. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dreams. If you don't, who will?”
~Jon Bon Jovi
Believe in what? you might ask.
Believe in God? Well, there’s a heavy topic, but at this time no, believing in God or a Higher Power is not what I’m referring to.
Believe in spirits or some form of an afterlife? Again, a heavy topic but no, not a debate I want to resume at the present.
Believe in yourself? Yep, that’s the one.
Some might say they’d find it easier to believe in unseen entities like God or a ghost then believe in themselves. I encourage you with great love to find a way to have faith in you. Nothing else matters more.
Everything we feel, everything we think, everything we do, and every way we respond to our outer worlds are directly connected to our own personal belief system. It’s the core of who we are. So, it would make sense that this is where we need to start when exploring ways to protect ourselves.
Society encourages us to carry on with our daily tasks by focusing on what is productive. But what is the definition of “productive”? Whatever that definition might be, I’ll bet it concentrates mainly on what is important to the outside world. Focusing on what’s going on inside of us may be disregarded in most of what we hear, read and see.
What is going on inside of us may be regarded as futile, a waste of time, vain, and at a deeper level threatening. In a Lightworker’s world, taking regular inventory of our personal beliefs is essential to one’s well-being including owning the ability to protect oneself and moving forward towards meeting one’s goals.
Believe it or not, we have hundreds – even thousands – of major and minor beliefs inside of us, at all different levels. These beliefs we started picking up and incorporating as soon as we were born. Most of them operate within us in autopilot simply because we don’t pay attention to them. We are distracted with the outside world. We come to believe that these beliefs are rules of the world – black and white.
I can go on and on about this topic but let me get back to what this month is all about – protecting yourself with your beliefs. So, here are some examples of some beliefs that will help keep you safe from energies in the living and spirits worlds.
Many beliefs are connected to your human rights:
• I believe I have the right to be safe
• I believe I have the right to be treated with respect
• I believe I have the right to express myself
• I believe I have the right to make my own decisions
• I believe my thoughts and feelings are mine – mine to choose and mine to change – no one else has the right to say they are wrong or to change them
• I believe I have the right to my own time and space
• I believe I have the right to choose and surround myself with people who love, accept and support me for who I am.
• I believe I have the right to reach out for support and guidance when I need it.
Some beliefs are connected to what we feel about ourselves, our strengths and our abilities:
• I believe I can stand up for myself, make the decisions and take the actions needed to keep myself safe
• I believe that my thoughts create my feelings, and my feelings will attract and strengthen the like (ie. positive feelings, such as love, will attract and strengthen positive energies and negative feelings, such as fear, will attract and strengthen negative energies)
• I believe I have power over my own feelings, thoughts and decisions
• I believe I am a good person and other good people want to spend time with me. I deserve the attention and respect of well-intended people.
• I believe I have the power to protect myself from any and all negative energies that are directed my way; however, I may choose to do this.
• I believe I was born with powerful intuition that continues to be a part of me, whether in use or in dormant state. I know that as long as I believe in and pay attention to this essential part of me, this sixth sense will grow and strengthen, working as a beacon to show me all positive decisions and actions that will help protect me along my journey.
• I believe I can intuitively choose my own personal cocktail of protection.
Without these beliefs, nothing else will work to protect us and we are left exposed to all worlds. Believe it or not, all beings both in body and in spirit, can sense whether or not you believe in yourself and in a personal set of rights. Even well-intended people may attempt to influence at some level simply because they were not taught at an early age to gain and maintain their own personal power. They were taught mostly by example how to manipulate in one or more of many ways available. And believe me, there are many, many direct and subtle ways.
When we are travelling the Lightworker’s path, we shine a specific type of light and vibrate at a particular frequency, letting all beings know we are on a very significant mission. The more significant the mission, the more of a threat to lower-level beings, hence the more important the use of a personalize cocktail of protection is.
When it comes to protecting yourself, whether it be from negative energy and actions from those in the living world or those in the spirit world, many methods are considered effective in general, but the bottom line is, as I mentioned last month, what will work for you is what you believe will work.
Your beliefs are what determine whether your life will be guided by either faith or fear. Everything falls into place from there. And we all have the power to choose to be guided by faith – faith in who and what we really are.
TRY THIS:
Say the above beliefs out loud. Take notice of how you react internally to each one.
For each one:
• Does it make me feel empowered and strong?
• Does it make me feel silly to say?
• Do I feel a resistance and almost an annoyance saying it?
If you react with empowerment and strength to one, you believe that statement is true to you, in your heart. If you react negatively in any way, you do not have that belief incorporated into your core system. Either way, it affects your energy accordingly and that’s the message you send out to the universe and all who can pick up on it.
Remember who you are. Believe in who you are. I believe in you. And you are powerful.
Remember who you are. The time is now.
