Original artwork/mural created for a home in Rothwell Heights.
The panelling around this house is still to be refinished and the wall sconce in the middle of the painted panel needs to be installed but the painting is finished, I think. It's always finished and never finished lol
I felt that the infusion of organic, dramatic, whimsy was an appropriate contrast for the slick, contemporary, rectilinear character of the home... This is a foreshadowing of the fragile, ephemeral, human element of the interior...
Preparing a home for sale sometimes requires some more extensive work... Like replacing an original 1960's kitchen with something a bit better configured, modern, bright, clean and high-functioning... A fresh backdrop for the pleasures of living. Spring 2017. Beacon Hill North, Ottawa.
