One of the funnest classes I’ve taught!

Today volunteers from multiple teams are hard at work getting First Aid certified to support camp safety!

In addition to many of the team being certified, we also have AED’s in the Feast Hall and at the beach, Narcan/sharps kits in the washrooms and on staff and multiple First Aid kits.

If you need any assistance during the festival, please don’t hesitate to use these resources or reach out to any of the volunteers.

We are truly excited and looking forward to seeing everyone June 11-14 and tonight, we email the bunk lists! Woohooo!!

Thank you Marissa Sypha Tattoos for helping me to create a more realistic learning environment for my classes. All of our bodies are a little bit different and it’s important to reflect that in training as best as we can.

If you have been holding back on a tattoo idea because it seems a little different (like tattooing the plastic guy who lives in your closet) come talk to Marissa at Hive Studios in Perth.

We have a few volunteer First Aider positions remaining for the Stewart Park Festival on July 17-19th. If you are passionate about helping others, we would love for you to join our team!

We are seeking volunteers to work two three-hour shifts during the festival. A Standard First Aid certification is required, we will provide training for volunteers who do not currently hold one.

Coming up May 23rd we are offering an online blended Standard First Aid CPR C course at the Perth Legion. This course is one day of online work completed at your own pace and one in class day, ideal for those who don’t have time for a full class.

Wildfires can start quickly and spread without warning. Taking time to understand the risks — and knowing how to respond — can make all the difference in keeping you and your loved ones safe.

🟢Before a wildfire:
Learn about wildfire risks in our area, clear debris and flammable materials from around your home, and stay connected to local updates so you’re ready to act if conditions change.

🔴During a wildfire:
Follow instructions from emergency officials, be prepared to leave quickly if advised, and limit time outdoors when smoke and air quality become a concern.

🟠After a wildfire:
Only return home when it is safe to do so, remain alert for lingering hazards, and continue to follow updates from local authorities.

Coming up this summer we are offering a Canadian Red Cross First Responder course at the Perth Royal Canadian Legion. If you’re interested in stepping up your first aid game or looking to begin a career in fire services, rescue teams or sports medicine, then this is the course for you.

This course teaches the patient assessment model, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and care for a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Participants will be engaged in dynamic hands on training. Send me a message if you want to sign up or learn more about this opportunity!
