Today, I enjoyed a Prince George Naturalists Club presentation about native plants in Northern BC by my friend Ec0N3rD aka Dani. It was great and the pictures were really nice. I wanted to enjoy all of those plants!

Hi folks, this year I am doing the Birdathon. It seems that this year is the 50th anniversary! Anyway, I will be heading out with team ECDOplasm and we will be trying to observe the most bird species we can in one day. I can promise we will go hard, and it will be a very long day. If you are able to donate to Birds Canada through our page, that would be amazing!

All donations go toward bird conservation in Canada. I will be sharing the complete list here after we complete the birdathon, but I thought I would share the link here now. If you want to donate, but are unsure how much, you can consider pledging a donation amount per bird species we observe. Thanks for continuing to help the birdies!

We average 95 species so we are hoping for at least that this year. The weather and the birds have to cooperate though.

I will also report if I am able to stop for a geocache or hear any of my froggy cousins!

Team ECDOplasm This May, we're going birding for Birdathon50! We will be challenging ourselves to spot as many birds as we can to raise funds for bird conservation with Birds Canada. This year is a special one: we’re celebrating Birdathon’s 50th anniversa...

Today, I joined the Prince George Naturalists Club and helped pickup trash in the Hudson's Bay Wetland area of Prince George. It was fun. Sailorcalypso and I also solved stage 1 of a multi-stage geocache. We will get it another day!

Happy Earth Day! I wish I was an EarthCacher, but I haven't seen one yet. Someday, I'll hop to a new city.

Today, I joined the Prince George Naturalists Club on their birding field trip and then on the way home sailorcalypso, worldbirder, and myself looked for a geocache. Unfortunately, we didn't find it, but the weather was great!

Last night, I went on an owl survey with sailorcalypso and theweatherman and we heard 7 owls! We also heard my cousins again, the Wood Frogs. We saw three Mule Deer, a Snowshoe Hare, a cross fox, and a beaver. The Northern Lights also came out for a bit of a show. Here's a photo that sailorcalypso took with her cell phone. We didn't have time for night geocaching. Maybe next time.

I can't go geocaching today, so I'll introduce you to another new friend I met today. This is Mr. PG. He is the mascot of Prince George. He is wearing a hoodie or "bunnyhug" souvenir from his geocaching travels in Saskatchewan. He is also trackable on geocaching.com! I'll share his code in the comments in case anyone wants to discover him.

This evening, I went for a drive with sailorcalypso and theweatherman down a logging road to hear my cousins, the Wood Frogs. They make such an interesting sound! We also heard a Barred Owl telling other Barred Owls that, that area was his turf. Oh, and I also made a new friend from 7-11.

Here's my TB code if anyone wants to discover me on geocaching.com.

Geocaching with sailorcalypso and Ec0N3rD today. Lots of missing logs or muggled caches today, but it was fun anyway! Always fun to get out in nature!
