DEADLINE REMINDER FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN ICEBOWL COMMITTEE (Please read carefully)

IceBowl is approaching fast, it’s time to purchase your ticket and book your accommodation!

IMPORTANT DEADLINES:

1) March 1st:
a. Deadline to receive IceBowl swag (duffel bag, ceramic mug, & towel) with purchase of a players pass. Purchases past this date will not include swag.
b. Requested deadline for Sports Reps to let us know how many teams and players their respective college will be sending. This will allow us to confirm our bookings with the rinks/social venues and allow us to create a tournament schedule to better aid everyone in arranging travel!

2) March 7th: Deadline to book your hotel room through our block of rooms. After this date, you will need to find alternative accommodations!

Further information:

Ice Bowl will be taking place April 7-9th at Merlis Belsher Place. The weekend will consist of a hockey tournament between medical schools from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.

IceBowl 2023 will include a fundraising initiative and be dedicated to raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society!
In addition to an action-packed weekend of hockey, the following social events will be taking place:

Evening Events:

Friday April 7th: Social at the Rink - an optional Beer Olympics Style Tournament. Sign up in teams of 2 and compete against pairs from other schools. Rink concession for alcohol sales will be open until 1:30am. Even if you do not wish to participate in the games, this is a great opportunity to meet your colleagues across Canada!

Saturday April 8th: Coors Event Centre social after the Saturday hockey games! The evening will consist of a DJ and potentially live entertainment (pending band options)! This event will be the final send-off of the weekend!

Afternoon Event:

Saturday April 8th: The SMSS is in the process of organizing an afternoon event at the rink lounge for spectators who need a break from watching hockey. Details will be announced ASAP!

Please note that participation in the weekend festivities will require purchase of either a player or spectator pass.
Buy your tickets, organize your teams, and inform your school’s Sports Rep ASAP to secure your spot!

It is with great pleasure that we make our first post regarding Ice Bowl 2023! Keep your calendars free for the weekend of April 7th-9th as the Student Medical Society of Saskatchewan is set to host our colleagues from the fellow Western Canadian medical schools for a weekend of competition, networking, and socializing! To create an extra initiative for the event, we have decided to mix in a fundraising aspect, with all proceeds from the weekend being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society!

The event will be taking place at Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon. Stay tuned for more details regarding the weekend and registration, as well as the link to our new website!
