The Grade 3 class had an AMAZING day at the Calgary Zoo!! Lions and Hippos and Bears…Oh, My!!🦁🦛🐻🦍🦒🐫🦓 is fun

Computer science in grade 4 focuses on the design process, specifically trying to find a need and design a solution.

Our grade 4 class identified the problem of trying to identify each other’s backpacks and brainstormed the solution of adding everyone’s names to their backpacks. We made it a bit more challenginging by using Tinkercad to design then 3D print keychains to put on their backpacks!

Our grade 9 buddies helped with the design process and even made their own keychains! All the keychains turned out wonderful and unique!

It was a learning process to ensure our keychains were thick enough, our names were on the bed properly and the 3D printers themselves provided a steep learning curve but the challenge was accepted!
