On behalf of Imagine Surrey, I was very pleased this morning to attend this year's raising of The Pride Flag, for both Pride Month and our wonderful Pride Festival in the City of Surrey.

Imagine Surrey was on the ground and in the stadium yesterday for Canada's incredible 6-nil victory at the World Cup. WOW -- GO CANADA!

Today, me and my Imagine Surrey team attended a rally in support of the Surrey Police Service Union, followed by an SPS Board meeting that quickly descended into chaos. The Board sat for an initial set of questions from the public, provided no answers, were jeered and then walked out for a recess.

Upon their return there were more questions, and yet again no answers -- including interim Chair Rob Stutt providing me with a non-answer on his clear conflict-of-interest votes.

The new Board Chair was entirely evasive before she and her entire Board simply gave up and left; Councillor Annis and her Surrey First team just sat there and asked nothing (perhaps conscious of Linda's previous, well-known vote to keep the RCMP?); and of course our Mayor was nowhere to be found.

What a mess -- Brenda's mess. This is a new low, including a call from the Board to gag-order police leadership and demand a financial review of SPS before the election this fall.

Great discussion with local dog-service business owners at one of our Imagine Surrey business roundtables.

We are hearing directly about the challenges small businesses face — from permitting and red tape, to staffing, rising costs, customer access, and the need for better communication with City Hall.

Great to meet with our team from Imagine Surrey and the Narima Dela Cruz supporters in Surrey. As usual, the "troublemakers" organized a great meet and greet with tons of food, laughs and great questions.

We have to get used to this Surrey! It's World Cup for a month and then we're going to build a City of Champions for the next 4 years!! Happy World Cup from Imagine Surrey!
