The Time Has Come
Nissan has stopped selling the R35 GT-R in Japan, marking the end of this famous sports car. Launched in 2007, it became Nissan’s top performance model, known for its powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine, all-wheel drive, and advanced technology.
Over the years, the R35 got several updates in 2010, 2016, and 2023. However, stricter safety and emissions rules made it harder to sell. It was discontinued in Australia in 2021, Europe in 2022, and North America in 2024, with Japan being the last market to close orders.
Many believe a new GT-R, possibly called the R36, could arrive around 2028 with an electric powerplant. While its future is unclear, the R35 will always be remembered as an iconic sports car.
