GTA home sales reached 6,583 in May 2026, up 6.3% year-over-year. New listings fell 18.9%. The average selling price across the GTA was $1,069,700, down 4.6% from May 2025.

In Aurora, 44 detached homes sold at an average of $1,437,918 with 4.4 months of inventory in a balanced market. In Newmarket, 68 detached homes sold at an average of $1,232,442 with just over 3 months of inventory in a balanced market. In King Township, 20 detached homes sold at an average of $1,849,944 with 9.3 months of inventory in a large buyer’s market. In Georgian Bay waterfront properties 4 sold at an average price of $1,163,750 and is sitting in 22.5 months of inventory in a major buyer’s market.

Markets are currently pricing in two Bank of Canada rate hikes out to spring 2027, down from three hikes priced in one week ago. The first hike is now expected in October 2026, pushed back from September.

Today marks two years since I lost my mom, Teresa — and our second year of honouring her the way she always lived. By giving back.

The Teresa Forbes Charitable Foundation was created last year from the love and generosity of family and friends who gave in her memory. We are endlessly grateful.

This year we donated $5,000 to Campfire Circle 🌲 — and the more we learn about this charity, the more we love it.

Kids arrive at their Muskoka overnight camp and spend a week waterskiing, swimming, climbing, and just being kids . No one leads with a diagnosis. Medical staff — doctors and nurses — live on site, so children on active treatment never have to miss a moment of camp. It is the only camp in Canada that can provide IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions on site.  And beautifully, they also offer programs for siblings and families  — because cancer touches the whole family. Every single program is free to families. 

This Mother’s Day, my twin sister Tamara and I ran their 10K downtown — the same race Mom ran with us back in 2013. Running it for her, on Mother’s Day, raising funds for these kids… it was one of those moments you just hold onto forever. 💛

Teresa gave quietly and generously her whole life. This cause is so her.
