GRIND. I did the best I could and had fun doing it.

Prepping for my 2nd was an “express version” after my eye surgery late Nov.

I also transitioned from my cherished online coach who got me started in powerlifting, recognizing I needed in-person support to break through my squat terror barrier.

With only 10 weeks to prep, Coach .cyclepath and I tweaked technique on all 3 lifts and started rebuilding strength after I was cleared to lift again.

In the last peak weeks, I was run off my feet at work to lock in my most successful month while also navigating exciting career changes. (Oh my nervous system!!)

After being scared out of my mind at Provincials in October, I went into this meet with a goal of feeling calm while trusting my body and training. I also wanted to have fun with my fellow lifters and bring some sparkle to the platform.

Squat 1: 90kg/198lb 🔴🔴🔴 stumbled
Squat 2: 90kg/198lb ⚪️🔴⚪️
Squat 3: 97.5kg/215lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️

Bench 1: 45kg/100lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Bench 2: 50kg/110lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Bench 3: 55kg/121lb 🔴🔴🔴

Deadlift 1-2-3: 115kg/254lb 🔴🔴🔴
When my 1st DL barely moved, I was surprised. This is a weight I’ve done in the gym and my PR from last Nats was 297lb!

I reattempted 2 more times and felt like a rockstar with people on-site cheering for me. It just wasn’t there 😔

I’m proud of my rebound after failing my 1st squat. I’m happy I stayed positive and had fun. I lifted with my whole heart.

Next year I’ll be 50 so I’m graduating into M2. I love this sport more than ever and have big goals. Now it’s time to go after them.

Thank you for being my support crew at home and in St John’s.

Thanks to my daughters and mom and siblings for cheering for me.

Thanks to my friends, clients, and colleagues .stouffville for supporting me.

I’m forever grateful for my amazing friend for sharing her pl skills with me.

Thank you to the meet organizers, officials, and volunteers. You created a fantastic competition experience.

Looking forward to getting stronger and more skilled, Coach Jason. We’re just getting started!

In 2025 I upgraded to a Level 4 Personal Trainer.

I won the Impact Award for our division and our team won Club of the Year!

Then I was promoted to Assistant Fitness Manager and was a finalist at for Fit Pro of the Year.

I had a lot of self-doubt when I made this career change 18 months ago. It’s remarkable that I love my job more than I could have ever anticipated.

So grateful for my clients, my colleagues , our leadership and our club community - .stouffville

Let’s see what we can accomplish in 2026—stronger, wiser, and more sparkly than ever 🤩.
