It’s Canadian Injury Prevention Day!

Canadian Injury Prevention Day ( ) is a day to raise awareness around the importance of injury prevention and aid people in Canada to live long lives to the fullest through education and advocacy.

The Ontario Physical Activity Safety Standards in Education (OPASSE) help prevent sport-related injury in schools by giving teachers specific safety standards to follow for interschool, intramural and curricular sport programming.

Celebrate CIPD by submitting a modification to an OPASSE standard; submissions need to be received by July 15, 2026, for consideration at the Safety and Injury Prevention Advisory Committee during the upcoming school year.
