Growing up in a Jamaican household, we were definitely told to not throw around that word “friend” too loosely. People a foreign love say “friend friend friend”-everybody is their friend. I have had that conversation with all three of my children several times and make sure that they understand the distinction between an acquaintance and an actual friend. Growing older I’ve definitely been able to use discernment, experience, and actions to determine who my actual friends are. Having that clarity is priceless.

Flew down to New York to see my little bro Skip Marley perform for the launch of his global Adidas campaign. I get to work with Skip on his music, but I think that even if he stopped making music, I would absolutely continue to check for him the same way. He is a serious man, but also a warm spirit. I absolutely enjoy the blessing of contributing towards his legacy. Thankful for and and the opportunity to witness greatness happen up close.
