“I’m busy. I’ll join a gym later.”

A friend said this to me two weeks ago.

And he is busy.

He’s got two kids, a job, and family to take care of.

The problem is that my friend is 37 years old.

He’s been saying that he’ll start taking care of himself “later” since College.

“Later” is a dangerous word.

There will always be a later.

But if you keep pushing off health and fitness until “later” it will be too ‘late’.

Here’s what I told my friend,

“Don't wait until you have "free time" to start a fitness program.

Because then when you get busy again, you'll stop.

The best time to start is actually when you're busy.

Learning how to fit it in when time's are tough means you'll stick with it long-term.”

Then I left him with this,

“You get one body. Take care of it, and it gets stronger. Ignore it, and it breaks down.

It’s a binary decision.

Use it to improve your odds of living a long and healthy lift.

Abuse it and you’ll be in pain and die before your friends.”

This is mortality. It’s the choice we’ve all been given.

Living life out of shape is harder than working out.
