Practical Guide for Leaders to Thrive
1. Start with Self-Reflection
Ask yourself:
Am I valuing people or just expecting results?
Daily reflection:
2 minutes to honestly assess how your actions affect your team.
Tip:
Keep a simple journal of wins and failures in valuing your people.

Want to elevate your leadership through communication?
In a recent talk with HR veteran, Maxwell Leadership team member, and my friend Daniel Dalton, we unpacked some game-changing insights for anyone serious about building stronger relationships at work and driving cultural transformation within organizations.
Here is what we covered:
Self-awareness is the gateway to effective leadership. Know yourself to lead others better.
The difference between an expert and a professional? Professionals keep growing—every day.
Tools like DISC, Enneagram, and Insights Discovery aren’t just buzzwords—they’re practical frameworks to improve team communication.
Culture doesn’t just happen. It must be designed, defined, and reinforced top-down.
Leadership is influence, and that begins by valuing others before trying to add value.
One line that stuck with me: “People don’t buy into the vision until they buy into the leader.”
Let that sink in.
Whether you're in HR, management, or simply leading a team of any size, these insights are worth your time.
Have you used any of these tools in your team or organization?
What’s been your biggest communication challenge lately?
👇 Let’s talk about it in the comments.
Tools for Effective Communication. #communication #inspiration #humanresources Dan and I had a great conversation about communication tools in leadership. As a proud John Maxwell Team Member, Dan brings over two decades of real-world ex...

Regardless of the industry or sector, all executives, business owners, and entrepreneurs need to understand one simple truth:
If you were able to create a business and run it successfully, but now find yourself stagnating on a plateau—there’s one core reason.
You stopped putting time into your people.
The moment you take your eyes off your team—their gifts, their perspectives, their potential—that’s the moment the decline starts.
You don’t see it right away, but the culture begins to shift.
Innovation slows.
Energy fades.
People go quiet.
And here’s the truth:
Every single person on your team has a bright idea that could move your business forward.
But you're not asking.
Or they don’t feel safe to speak.
Or… no one cares anymore.
My mentor once told me:
A good move is great. A bad move can be corrected. But no move destroys you.
That hit me hard.
So if progress has stalled—it’s time to make a move.
Start with a conversation.
Listen with curiosity.
Show them you still care.
It’s not too late to fix what you haven’t done before.
It’s time to talk to your people—and save your business.

Another great leader and veteran I was honored to meet—again.
It was a privilege to connect for the second time and now in Las Vegas with Jason Redman, Navy SEAL Veteran, speaker, and author—whose courage, resilience, and leadership continue to inspire thousands.
From battlefield leadership to empowering others through his story, Jason is a true example of what it means to lead with purpose and strength—no matter the challenges.
Grateful for another powerful conversation and the opportunity to stand alongside a fellow warrior who's changing lives beyond the uniform.
