For Sharuka and her son, the library is more than just a place to borrow books—it’s a space to learn, connect, and feel at home.

Right now, every gift to Toronto Public Library will be matched 2x, helping more children and families access the programs, spaces, and support they rely on all year long.

Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), we’re reflecting on a powerful conversation hosted earlier this week by TPL’s Pride Alliance at the Toronto Reference Library.

TPLF team members joined a fireside chat and Q&A with Heated Rivalry cast member and 2SLGBTQ+ advocate Harrison Browne and award-winning journalist Rachel Browne, exploring what real allyship looks like across sports, media, and the workplace—and how narratives, visibility, and action shape inclusion.

It was a meaningful opportunity to listen, learn, and reaffirm our commitment to building a workplace and community where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to show up as their full selves.
