Dunc Campbell, born on July 12, 1900 near Nairn, ON, was an early Ontario harness racing legend and the patriarch of one of Ontario’s great racing families. In 1983, Dunc was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026. He is the grandfather of legendary horsemen John and Jim Campbell. John has been inducted into a number of Halls of Fame, including the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame and the U.S. Harness Racing Hall of Fame, where Jim is also enshrined.
