Too young....💔 A prayer service is planned this weekend for a young woman who still hasn’t been found 😔 after the vehicle she was in went into the North Thompson River in Kamloops, British Columbia last Sunday....
Friends of Benina Jepkoech organized a vigil next to the river this week, and they’ll also be hosting a service in her honour Saturday (May 23). The service will get underway at 4:00 p.m. at 1194 14th Street in Brocklehurst.
The 24-year-old Jepkoech is presumed to have drowned, but a 21-year-old woman who was also in the vehicle was rescued by three bystanders who had jumped into the river. The unidentified passenger and one of her rescuers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash.
▶️Search efforts have been called off for now because of poor visibility and high water in the Thompson River. Search teams plan to resume searching once conditions improve, though it could be weeks – if not months – before that happens◀️
In the meantime, people are still urged to keep a look out and report any potential sightings of Jepkoech or her vehicle to the Kamloops RCMP.
