These were taken just two weeks after a petition was filed with the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn same-sex marriage. Yes, I’m serious. And no, I’m not surprised.

I’m grateful to live in an inclusive country like Canada, but it’s hard to ignore how fragile LGBTQ+ rights still are. To me, it’s just a reminder why consistent allyship and advocacy is so important.

If you or someone you know in the LGBTQ+ community feels unsafe or is facing persecution, there are pathways to migrate to Canada through government programs or private sponsorship.
