Yesterday, at the Mitacs Connect: Celebrating Alberta’s Innovators event, a new partnership was announced between Mitacs and Alberta Innovates to strengthen talent development, commercialization, and innovation across the province.
The event brought together leaders from industry, post-secondary institutions, and government, including the Honourable Myles McDougall, Alberta’s Minister of Advanced Education, to celebrate Alberta’s innovation ecosystem and the partnerships driving its success.
By improving coordination between our networks, this agreement will help companies, researchers, and post-secondary institutions access the talent, funding, and support needed to move ideas from research to real-world impact.
Since 2018, Mitacs has collaborated with more than 1,400 industry partners in Alberta, supporting over 11,000 internships and helping mobilize more than $170 million in R&D investment.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Alberta’s innovators and the partnerships helping drive the province’s future growth and competitiveness.
