Are you worried your dog will always bark at and be nervous of new people? It doesn’t have to be that way. I am helping Client team Laurel and Dino, seen in the video, have tools for building confidence and being out in the world. They did great in their first in-person session. Baby steps.
Things we did for a successful training session:
- she had taught a solid marker word with Dino
-used a familiar location
-took lots of breaks
-played the engage disengage game with me (stranger)
-I watched his body language to see when he was comfortable with me getting closer or wanted me further away
