A big thank you to all who came out Saturday for the final meet and greet event for the "My Siren Odyssey" show. It was great to see so many old friends and to make some new ones as well! Extra big thanks to Lisa, Sarah and Adam for all the help in making it happen! Finally, a big thank-you to Vivian and Mitchel of the Peninsula Gallery for their extraordinary efforts in hosting it all.

"Meet ... Greet ... and Repeat" ... Big thanks to everyone who came to the "Meet and Greet" event connected to my "My Siren Odyssey" show. There were so many friends there and so little time to catch up. Peninsula Gallery has now extended the show to allow for a final and very casual "Meet ... Greet ... and Repeat" event on Saturday October 12th from noon to 3pm. I hope to have another chance to catch up with old and new friends. And I hope to see you there! Cheers!

This is "Repentant" 24"X48" oil on canvas (available). Sometimes I find it visually interesting for the viewer, if I challenge them to resolve the content of the image. The human brain immediately tries to understand what it's seeing. I believe that's an instinctual survival mechanism. This means that the viewer is engaged right from the start ... and that's a good start. Repentant is a bit of a visual challenge, especially if you're viewing the large-ish original art and not just a small jpeg on-line. I find this painting also has a lot of good movement and energy with the reflection and everything else that's happening. The warmer colours of the focal point come forward nicely and the cooler colours are receding well. This painting is currently on display in my show at the Peninsula Gallery, in Sidney BC Canada.

Here's a big one. This is "Anarchy" 45"X60" one of thirty paintings just delivered to the Peninsula Gallery for my coming solo show entitled "My Siren Odyssey". Anarchy is also one of 63 of my artworks now time capsule archived, in digital format, on the moon's surface as part of the Lunar Codex. As fate would have it, the lander that first delivered my Sirens to the moon was aptly named Odyssey. This is the first of multiple landers to carry and deposit Codex time capsules across the lunar surface over the next few years. It's all part of NASA's Artemis project to ultimately land human's on the surface of Mars. A big thanks to a fellow Canadian, Dr. Samuel Peralta for selecting so many of my works for inclusion in his amazing Codex collection. In fun, I have an inside man in rocketry engineering (that's you Lachlan) and I'm hoping to be part of a future "Martian Codex" which would extend the reach of my artwork an additional 150 million miles across our solar system. That's would be an interesting legacy :)
"My Siren Odyssey" is hosted by the Peninsula Gallery in Sidney BC Canada. Like Anarchy, there are several Lunar Codex artworks available at the show. Feel free to join me on September 21st from noon to 3 pm for the meet and greet event. Hope to see you there!
Here's the Sirens book story point and back label for Anarchy ... "She can hear her father calling, but she dives for cover in the dense kelp. There’s no time to explain the situation she’s been forced into. Anarchy has the upper hand, and Sarah has no doubt that her father would try to stop her if he knew. This was her fault, and she would make the decision, whatever that turned out to be, then face the consequences."
