In Ayurveda, ghee is considered one of the most nourishing and healing substances, and during the postpartum period, it becomes pure gold.

Why I love it for new mothers:

Deep nourishment: Ghee rebuilds strength from the inside out. It replenishes ojas, your vital life essence, helping you feel grounded, stable, and radiant again after birth.

Kindles digestion: After birth, digestion is often weak or sensitive. Ghee gently rekindles your digestive fire, helping your body absorb nutrients and heal efficiently.

Lubricates and soothes: Internally and externally, ghee supports moisture and lubrication, easing dryness, tension, and stiffness. 

Nourishes the nervous system: Warm ghee calms vata dosha, the energy of movement and change that’s heightened after birth. It supports better sleep, emotional balance, and a sense of safety in your body.

Postpartum is a time to return to softness — and ghee is a perfect ally for that journey. 

How to use it:

Use 2 to 3 tablespoons of organic, grass-fed ghee daily in meals and in tea the first 4 to 6 weeks after birth. 

Drizzle it over warm rice, stir into herbal milk, or use in postpartum recipes.

Grandmother love❤️. There's nothing like it.

I love that I get to witness these sweet moments in life over and over again. The moments that make all the outside noise stop, the troubles fade away and all that's left is pure love and the presence of two souls in deep connection.

Ayurveda says that the first 42 days after birth form the foundation for the mother's next 42 years.

Receiving these pillars of support after birth allows for deep rejuvenation.

Postpartum recovery does not have to be elaborate, in fact, simple is best.

Do what you can, some of these rituals are better than none and allow others to help where they can.

You deserve a slow, intentional, and sacred postpartum.🩷
