WHERE OUR FRIENDS SEND THEIR FRIENDS

11/20/2020

YOUR SAFETY & THE SAFETY OF OUR STAFF IS OUR PRIORITY #1.

We continue to operate our business & remain grateful at the opportunity to be able to do so.

Having said this, the health & well being of our loyal customer base and staff take utmost priority.

For this reason, we have lessened our daily car count to ensure we have the ability to properly sanitize every vehicle upon entry & exit of your vehicle using diligent methods all staff adhere to with no exceptions.

We have dramatically reduced foot traffic inside our building by rearranging how/where vehicle parts & products are delivered.

We also continue to offer & encourage accommodations for contactless drop off/pickup, contact-free payment options, & all communication by way of telephone/text/email & in situations that warrant it; video chat.

We also understand many families are struggling financially due to loss of jobs & other scenarios. For this we are extremely saddened. If you are in a situation where you are having to go without a meal, or a warm jacket (as a few examples) we do have connections with many organizations & would be more than happy to assist you in getting an essential item that you may be without. Feel free to message us privately to discuss further. This will be a private discussion between KMC Owners only & the individual themselves. We would be happy to assist in bringing some light to these trying times ❤️

Please continue to support each other during this time, and our hope is for all our customers, family, and friends to stay safe, healthy & protected.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

The health, safety & well-being of our customers & staff are always a top priority to us. COVID-19 raises concerns around the world. We will diligently continue to improve/adjust our policies & practices accordingly.

KMC has maintained & also implemented several systems & policies in place which we will review on a regular basis to ensure customers, staff & community are healthy & safe.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:

1. WE WILL ACCOMMODATE
For a customer who is not comfortable, or unable to visit the shop, we are offering pick-up and drop-off services as required. We also have a key drop box to accommodate customers dropping off their vehicle during & after-hours. All interactions can be made over the phone or email if the customer chooses.

2. PROTECTING YOUR VEHICLE
Our trained technicians use disposable seat covers & disposable gloves. They are wiping down all touchable areas in your vehicle with disposable shop towels and sanitizer on both entry and exit of your vehicle.

3. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
Advanced cleaning efforts using medical grade cleaners to wipe down all counters, door handles, interact machine, chairs & stations consistently throughout the day & every time after a customer exits the building. All staff are required to wash their hands frequently and after all customer interactions.

4. MAINTAIN PERSONAL SPACE
KMC is not a place where large amounts of people gather. There is often only one or two people in the reception area (including staff) at a given time. We are practicing social distancing and maintaining personal space with anyone we interact with.

Please support each other during this time, and our hope for all our customers, family, and friends to stay healthy & strong!

How to Prepare Your Car for Your Summer Road Trip

Summer is finally here! Oh the places to go. However before you set off on any long excursions it is best to ensure that your car is up for the task. While there are many things you can do to ensure your car is going to get the best fuel efficiency possible there is more to trips than just saving gas. Safety should be a main concern, which means giving your car a little extra attention before setting off. Here are a few things you should consider having done before putting the pedal to the metal as you head off on the next great adventure.

Brake Service

Your brake system is key to providing you with a safe trip. If you have experienced any sort of braking trouble recently it is crucial that you have them checked out. It would be a shame to get out on the road only to have your brakes require service halfway through. We will be able to look at your brake system and let you know if you should be good to go or if they need to be serviced now. Common signs of braking trouble include grinding noises, a soft brake pedal, pulling or vibrating when braking or the illumination of the ABS light, which stands for anti-lock braking system.

Catch Up with Maintenance

By conducting routine maintenance before heading out you won't have to worry about making any unnecessary pitstops. Regular maintenance will help ensure that your car is getting the best fuel efficiency possible while also helping to prevent breakdowns that can result in a need for costly repairs. Routine maintenance includes oil changes, replacing the air filter and fuel filter, installing new spark plugs, checking the battery, inspecting and if necessary replacing belts and hoses as well as a plethora of other services.

Check your Tires

Your car's tires are what connect you to the road and they need to be in good condition and properly inflated for a safe and efficient road trip. Have us look over your tires to ensure they are not going to be giving you any trouble in the next few thousands miles. Also be sure to have them pumped up to the correct PSI as poorly inflated tires can cause a number of issues. Always a great idea to pick up a Tire Pressure Guage and leave in your glove box as well!

At KMC Automotive we are happy to help you with your pre-trip auto inspection. We won't try and sell you a bunch of unneccessary repairs - just an honest assessment of your vehicle and break it down clearly as to what needs attention now vs later, etc. Our team offers full service auto maintenance in south Winnipeg for all makes and models of import and domestic cars, trucks and SUVs. Remember, better safe than sorry! To schedule an appointment for expert auto repair in Winnipeg contact KMC Automotive at (204) 269-1839 today!
