In June 2023, organized an awareness session for children on the theme: "Living with Mazuku: how to talk about it to children on the radio?" . A dozen participated in this session, which was attended by grassroots leaders and journalists from local media outlets.

Invited to the meeting, volcanologist reminded the young participants of the importance of avoiding brush and restricted areas. "Mazuku is invisible, but it kills. Children must stay in safe spaces," he emphasized.

During the same month, Watoto Radio participated in a cultural event commemorating the Day of the African Child, organized by the Children's Ministry of the Notre Dame d'Afrique Parish in Goma. It was an opportunity to share a message of awareness about Mazuku under the theme: “Living with Mazuku: how to talk to children about it on the radio?”

In October 2025, in the Lac Vert district, a man in his forties died after walking in an area prohibited due to high CO2 concentrations. In December 2025, also in the same district, a security guard lost his life trying to retrieve a chicken that had fallen into a pit. The accumulation of gas at the bottom of the pit caused him to lose consciousness immediately, followed by death from asphyxiation.
