Shyira Diocese Compassion Projects

During this Pandemic, All projects working in Diocese of Shyira have changed their objectives. Now, they are working on developmental actions. That's to say they've organized caregivers and train them about Income Generating Activities (IGAs). Some of them are learning tailoring. In different projects many caregivers now can compete by tailoring good stuff, they've already known how to make clothes of different type. Like trousers, shirts, skirts, ...... Another point is Sewing: also different projects have set this project of teaching caregivers how to use sewing machines. They are now at good level. They can make sweaters, hats, and others many kinds of clothes.
Taking this strategy, it was to find the solution of the problem occured during lockdown. People missed what to do, they met many problems especially finding what to feed children. But if they had known those different crafts, they would have found the way of making money for themselves. So, Diocese of Shyira in partnership with Compassion International have decided to train caregivers and children who are supported in those projects
They are now happy, they have what to do. Apart from tailoring and sewing, there are other projects like cultivating especially Irish potatoes, raising cows and pigs, and other more domestic animals.
This initiative will enable caregivers and children supported in those projects to become very fruitful In The future. They will make money for their owns, they will provide what they need in daily life by themselves. We strongly thank Diocese of Shyira, Compassion International too for their kind support both financially and in terms of pieces of advice. Working together will help our people to eradicate poverty in Jesus'name as the great mission of Compassion is. *"To release children from poverty I. Jesus'name."*
