Β«People in Porto were much more interested in doing their own stuff than actually trying to follow a specific trend and that created a very unique music output.Β» Gustavo Costa, Sonoscopia - Platform for Experimental MusicΒ
Gustavo Costaβs sonic vision is characterized by a constant openness to musical styles but with a common denominator: experimentation and the constant desire for stylistic renewal. Active in the underground scene since the early 1990s, and part of countless bands and formations since then, he maintained an interest and parallel engagement with the academic world.
In recent years, he has concentrated a large part of his activity in β the collective and association of which he has founded βΒ where he dedicates himself to the sonic exploration through various formats of creation and collaboration.
The latest TIMEZONES podcast episode comes from Porto, Portugal, and opens up the question: How does the current social and political climate shape β and gets shaped by β the way we listen to the city?Β
