Posting with my own voice - Fernanda here. Only to say I continue my journey as a messenger of the most affected communities, but at the humanitarian coordination level. Often without breath and beat, trying to knock down those walls and agendas so that we can include more local people in the decision-making rooms. It's been 20 months now without teaching communities how to hold a camera to see and value themselves, and it hurts. On the other hand, I have been persistent in trying to increase the volume of all those mics imaginatively plugged into many corners of the disaster zones. Along with a dream team, currently supporting multiple humanitarian responses in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tropical storms, displacement, gang-violence, migration daily surround my head and heart. Hope is thin, for me and for many. But we must continue holding our heads and light.
