Bui Fons Reunite, Seal Landmark Peace Agreement
Seven traditional rulers from Bui Division have reunited for the first time in over a decade, marking a significant step towards peace and reconciliation in Cameroon's conflict-hit North West Region.
Meeting in Bafoussam during the Bui Fons Dialogue, Peace and Reconciliation Conclave on July 3–4, the royal fathers pledged to embrace dialogue, forgiveness and unity after years of separation caused by the Anglophone crisis.
The conclave, facilitated by the Nso Development and Cultural Association (NSODA), also saw the appointment of a new Ntumfon (royal messenger) to help strengthen communication among the palaces and carry the Fons' collective message of peace to their communities.
The reunion has been widely welcomed as a symbolic breakthrough, with hopes that it will contribute to grassroots reconciliation and renewed stability across Bui Division and the wider North West Region.

Onana Joins World's Top 10 Highest-Paid Goalkeepers After Trabzonspor Return
Cameroon international André Onana has climbed into the list of the world's 10 highest-paid goalkeepers after officially rejoining Trabzonspor on loan from Manchester United for the 2026/27 season.
Under the agreement, Trabzonspor will pay the Cameroonian shot-stopper's full salary, while Manchester United could earn up to £1.5 million in performance-related bonuses. The deal does not include an option or obligation to make the move permanent, meaning Onana is expected to return to Old Trafford in the summer of 2027.
The lucrative arrangement places the 30-year-old among the highest-earning goalkeepers in world football, underlining his continued value despite his uncertain future at Manchester United.
For Cameroonian football fans, the move is another major milestone for one of the country's biggest sporting stars. After helping Trabzonspor impress during his previous loan spell, Onana will now look to build on that success while reaffirming his status as one of Africa's elite goalkeepers before returning to Manchester United in 2027.
