In this insightful piece, we delve deep into the realm of internet connectivity, exploring the impact of undersea cable disruptions on local services and economies. From the establishment of Internet eXchange Points (IXPs) to the challenges posed by tromboning, we dissect the complexities of network design and offer innovative solutions for a more resilient digital infrastructure.

With recent disruptions of internet in Cameroon and other regions, it's more crucial than ever to address the inefficiencies in our connectivity models.

Our article sheds light on the need for strategic reforms, including the adoption of anti-tromboning policies and the promotion of local peering agreements.
