The 4ish-hour, mostly coastal drive south from the cloud forest to Playa Dominicalito was both beautiful and eventful. We got to our beach bungalow with an ocean view and walked the peninsula to La Parcela for seafood. The jungle trees were lit up—huge, dramatic, and intense in the dark. Also, we saw a tarantula.
We arrived at our treehouse in El Tigre, Monteverde, Costa Rica, tucked into a mountain cloud forest — an ecosystem so unique that it makes up less than 1% of all forests on Earth. The cool air mist moving through the trees felt peaceful, wild, and surreal as the driver brought us to our little house.
We were excited to settle in before getting married (and sharing it via livestream with the people we loved). Planning it from afar is one thing, but arriving is where it started to sink in.

10 years ago, a simple kiss started a trajectory leading us to this day. And even though we got soaked and muddy from the rain during photos, this day was so special. Thank you to every person who joined one of our livestreams. It meant so much to have you there with us.
