Before and after photos of a new filter we installed this morning in Tala. The plastic media used in the old filter which is only 3 years old and was installed by another company, is innefiffent in Cyprus and should not be used unless it's an indoor pool. I would not recommend using this media in Cyprus.

Unlike sand or glass plastic media can easily become overloaded with dirt and algae. When this happens, traditional backwashing is often ineffective, forcing you to remove the media and wash it by hand, which defeats the purpose of an easy-maintenance system.

While good for catching large debris, plastic media generally offers lower filtration efficiency compared to glass or sand, meaning smaller particles might pass through, leading to cloudy water. This is especially a problem with the dust we get in Cyprus.
