The Emerald Guide: Spring Bloom Edition 🌸✨

Another installment in our ongoing series of Prague recommendations—this time, we’re sharing our favourite spots to catch the cherry blossoms and magnolias before they’re gone.

Right now, we’re about to enter the peak bloom season. If you’re in Prague or planning to visit soon, these are the spots worth making time for:

🌸 Petřín Hill — entire orchards of almond trees turning the hillside white. It gets crowded on weekends, so go early morning if you can.
🌸 Újezd — The street that runs along the base of Petřín Hill. Walk it from the tram stop up toward the funicular and you’ll pass under a canopy of blossoms the whole way.
🌸 Troja Castle — Yes, it’s a bit of a trek—you’ll need to take the tram and then walk through the zoo area—but the gardens here are meticulously maintained and the castle itself makes for a dramatic backdrop.
🌸 Letná Park — The magnolia trees here are massive, and the park gives you those sweeping views over the Vltava that make you remember why you came to Prague in the first place.
🌸 Náměstí Míru — This square has magnolia trees framing the Church of St. Ludmila. It’s more accessible than some of the other spots and there are plenty of cafés nearby if you want to grab a coffee of wine afterwards.
🌸 Dykova Street — A local secret in the Vinohrady neighbourhood. The cherry trees here create a tunnel effect when they’re in full bloom. Far fewer tourists than Petřín, mostly just locals walking their dogs or heading home from work.

A practical note: mornings are less crowded and the light is softer. Late afternoon works too, especially in Letná Park where you can catch golden hour. Don’t bother with midday unless you enjoy harsh shadows and crowds.
