The Foreigners We Know
Vol. 25: Stef
Meet Stef, one of the lovely humans in our community and proof that sometimes moving countries becomes much more than just moving countries 💙
She also ran recent Prague marathon, congrats Stef, we are proud of you 🙌🏼🎉
“Hi everyone — I’m Stef, originally from the U.S., and I’ve been living in Prague for about 8 months now.
I moved here during a pretty big transition in my life. After spending 12 years working in corporate sales, I realized I was ready for a fresh start — not just professionally, but personally too. Prague became part of that rediscovery process: a chance to reshape my life, slow down a little, and build something more aligned with who I am now.
Around the same time, I also started my own business as a travel advisor through Fora Travel, turning a longtime passion into actual work. I’ve traveled to 38 countries so far, and one of the biggest things travel has taught me is how much discovering new places can expand us — it opens our minds, pushes us outside our routines, and helps us see both the world and ourselves differently. I love helping other people experience that too.
These days, I spend a lot of time exploring Prague, working remotely, planning trips, and trying to build a meaningful life here instead of just passing through as a tourist.
As for Czech Expats Club, I’m mostly here looking for genuine connections in my new city — the kind of friendships where you can go for long walks, chat over coffee for hours, explore somewhere new on a random weekend, or just curl up on the couch and watch Netflix together.
Looking forward to meeting more of you :)”

When you move to a new country, you spend a lot of time searching. Searching for your people, your places, your routines, and the little things that unexpectedly make somewhere begin to feel like home. And honestly, even if you have been here for years, you are still collecting those little discoveries.
Maybe that is why we have a soft spot for small businesses built with heart. The ones that begin with a feeling, a memory, or simply missing something enough to create it yourself. One of our favourite things is finding these places and sharing them with our community.
was created by Sarah and Zoe, two English teachers living in Prague who missed the American flavours they grew up with and decided to bring a little piece of them here. What started as nostalgia turned into small-batch baking full of playful details, seasonal surprises and thoughtful touches, including sustainability in the way they create and package where possible.
And this is not just us romanticising things. We have had their cookies ourselves, so we can confidently say we know what we are talking about.
Good people creating good things has a way of making a city feel a little smaller and a lot warmer.

Whilst our beautiful has been preparing and getting inspired for this Saturday, we have a little update.
Turns out flowers are expensive and life is expensive and being an adult is expensive.
But we still really wanted this room full of good people, so we shuffled things around and managed to make the tickets a little easier to say yes to.
Same flowers, same wine, same cosy afternoon, same take-home arrangement.
If you were secretly thinking “I wish, but…” go have another look.
Link in bio and see you on Saturday at 16:00 🌸

The Foreigners We Know
Vol. 24: Daniela & Señor
Meet Daniela, originally from Costa Rica, who found a little piece of home in Prague through flowers, creativity and simple joy of creating something with her hands. Daniela showed up to our first ever workshop last August & now she is hosting her own for our community 🪻🤍
“My name is Daniela, I’m originally from Costa Rica and I’ve been living in Prague for almost five years now. One of the things I love most here is how safe and walkable the city feels, all the specialty coffee shops, and of course, all the flower shops.
Even though I’ve always loved flowers, it wasn’t until the pandemic that flower arranging became something much more personal for me. During that time, I would sit on the floor of my living room with a glass of wine and arrange flowers just by feeling, moving them around until it somehow felt right. What started as a way to pass time slowly turned into a small side hustle after I began sharing my arrangements online.
When I moved to the Czech Republic, I remember feeling really connected to how present flowers are here. Seeing arrangements in cafés, bars, little shops, and markets made Prague feel familiar to me even before I spoke the language.
For me, flower arranging is a form of therapy. It helps me switch my brain off and let my hands lead instead. I’m not a professional florist, and I actually love that part of it. It’s more about creating something that feels good to you rather than making it perfect.
Through our upcoming community workshop, I really just want to share that feeling with others and hopefully inspire people to slow down a little, buy themselves flowers more often, and create something just for the joy of it.”

All we really care about is creating as many rooms as possible to get you into one where you can put your phone away, leave your daily life and work worries outside, and find the best of what we love in CZ.
was one of those rooms. We went, felt it, and decided more people should know about it. So we brought some of our people through. shared loads of real knowledge & helpful tips. Sagi made a picture perfect homemade cake.
cz brought that gorgeous popup & share her story as Czech founder.
It was a lovely Sunday afternoon. Here for the memories in its raw, unpolished, flickering light we gave up editing, because you can feel the vibe anyways.
