New project up on Behance, featuring the excellent model of the Centenario by Jakub P., sitting pretty on some alloys.

The Jota project was something that I've always wanted to do, and was one of the reasons why I started modeling the Miura in the first place.

The initial plan was to make a more hardcore version of the original Jota prototype, but in the end I decided to keep it close to Bob Wallace's vision. (Swipe to the end to see an original photo of it)

Featuring lightweight Campagnolo alloys wrapped in massive AVON slicks and custom bodywork for improved aerodynamics, the result is a completely different beast compared to the "standard" Miura.

Modeling one of the most beautiful cars ever made was always going to be a challenge.

Here's some screenshots of the process early on, when the main focus was keeping those base surfaces smooth.

Back to for a bit.

Having worked in it a lot for the past year, it's becoming ever more difficult to go back to a pre-rendered solution. There's advantages to both worlds, but realtime is definitely catching up very quick.
