Addressing benchmarking gaps in large language models for health and medicine with dynamic red-teaming
The integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into healthcare is arguably one of the most transformative frontiers of modern science. These powerful AI systems promise to revolutionize everything from triaging patient symptoms to assisting clinicians with complex diagnoses, ushering in an era of unprecedented medical efficiency. However, as these digital assistants become more ubiquitous, a critical question looms: are they truly reliable, or are they just very eloquent parrots? Until recently, the standard approach to assessing their safety relied on static benchmarks—pre-set quizzes and established test sets that offered a snapshot of performance.

Bridging the Divide: How AI Narratives Are Helping Fill the Gaps in Alzheimer's Research
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) represents one of the most profound challenges facing global healthcare. It is a relentless, progressive neurological condition that dismantles memories, disrupts thought processes, and alters the very way people communicate. To understand and combat AD, researchers rely heavily on clinical assessments—tools that gauge a patient’s cognitive functions, such as their ability

Peeking Behind the Curtain: Anthropic Finds a Global Workspace in AI Thinking
For decades, the processing happening inside the human mind—the rapid-fire adjustments of posture, the deliberate plans we map out, the sudden image that pops into focus—has felt like a mysterious, invisible theater. While much of our cognition runs automatically beneath the surface, we possess this uniquely human ability to make certain thoughts "consciously accessible"—to describe them, control
