The campaign is not only directed against ICC staff members, but also against states cooperating with the Court. It is therefore all the more important that States Parties do not allow themselves to be intimidated and provide the ICC with determined support.

“I try to cross to Germany as little as I can,” says Sandra Alloush, a Syrian refugee, filmmaker and human rights advocate.
“I don’t trust that I will be treated fairly even though I have my documentation. It’s still the trauma of what happened.”

The EU commission has finally asked Germany to lift its decade-long border controls and as German courts repeatedly rule them unlawful, this podcast and asks; what do border controls mean for communities stuck on either side of them and particularly for the mobility of racialized people and migrant communities? It’s about how so-called emergency measures are being used to take away freedoms and rights. 

Sandra Alloush speaks about the impact of a violent control she was subjected to by German officers at the French-German border. She has submitted a complaint to the German administrative court supported by ECCHR, and .europe .

“This is not how you manage migration. This is how you make violence very normal. And when state violence is normalized against one group, it is very easily spread to others,” says Sandra.

One could wonder if Germany hasn’t learned its lessons from the failed candidacy for the UN Security Council. It’s high time to take action and suspend the EU Israel agreement.
