Our Queen !

Denmark's Queen Margrethe attended this year's New Year's banquet in Amalienborg Palace wearing her Naasut Tiara.

Although she abdicated in January 2024 with most of her jewels during her reign are now in the possession of the her daughter-in-law, Queen Mary, Queen Margrethe still keep some pieces of the Danish jewels, including tiaras, to be worn on gala events. One of these tiaras is the Naasut Tiara.

Naasut Tiara and the coordinating earrings were presented to Queen Margrethe II in 2012 to mark her 50th anniversary on the Danish throne by the people of Greenland.

This striking Gold and Diamond Tiara was created by Nicolai Appel from the gold coins minted for the International Polar Year, which were extracted from the Kirkespidalen mines in Greenland.

Also known as the Greenland Gold Tiara, this piece was crafted in collaboration with the Queen. It features floral motifs that represent flowers from Greenland. The tiara can be broken into five brooches and hairpins.
