Some lessons come from courses, books, and mentors. Others come from trying something yourself and realizing, "Oop... there was probably a better way to approach this."

But that's okay. Mistakes are part of the learning process.

If sharing my experiences and challenges helps someone avoid a few unnecessary headaches along the way, then I'm happy I made those mistakes.

Some of us like to bite off more than we can chew and THEN learn how to chew (like moi!). But not everyone learns that way, and that's okay too.

There's nothing wrong with starting small, learning at your own pace, and growing from there.

Short Story: A Deceased Loved One

A series of giggles echoed throughout the seemingly dark and vacant room, followed by hushed voices. A single candle; its orange and red flames flickering continuously, was the only source of light.

Three dark shadows, reflecting off the candle's light onto the pale yellow walls, could be seen quite clearly. The motion is brief and often relocates itself.

"Guys..." Ashlee trailed off, inspecting her surroundings suspiciously. "Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that we're not alone..." Her dark beady eyes now directing their attention towards her best friends.

Their facial expressions were evidence that they didn't take her seriously. As always, Jimmy and Melanie dismissed Ashlee's berserk statements and continued their conversation as normal. Ashlee, on the other hand, remained silent and observed the thick darkness outside of the room.

Suddenly, a foggy figure moved inhumanely fast in the obscure exterior of the room; Ashlee barely being able to catch a glimpse of it before it disappeared. At the same time, Melanie's hands raked through Ashlee's lengthy jet black hair and grazed her smooth, olive skin.

An ear-piercing shriek boomed throughout the house as Ashlee went pelting out the room doorway.

Melanie's mouth was slightly ajar upon witnessing her friend's unexplainable behavior. She then turned towards Jimmy who shared a similar expression as her. They burst into fits of hysterics before slowly calming down.

Jimmy abruptly maneuvered Melanie onto his lap so that she cradled him, disregarding the preposterous action of Ashlee. His dark gray eyes sparkled as it gazed into her hazel ones.

The two have been secretly dating for the past two weeks and due to Ashlee's oblivious personality, their flirting and closeness went unnoticed.

Catching her by surprise, his lips hungrily crushed into hers. In response, she began moving her lips in sync with his.

"I don't want to conceal our relationship anymore Mel. It's frustrating." Jimmy muffled as he trailed kisses along her jawline then captured her lips again.

Melanie pulled away and frowned at him. "Yes baby I know but...Ash? It would hurt her so much. You know she has a huge crush on you." she sighed and stood up from Jimmy's lap. "I should probably go and look for her." With this being said, Melanie vanished into the dark.

Almost a about twenty minutes passed and the girls haven't returned. Jimmy exhaled sharply then murmured, "I guess I'll have to get them myself."

Upon arising from his seat, a sudden unknowingly strong force compelled him to advert his attention to his right. His blood ran cold and his heart throbbed painfully as his eyes gaze upon the unexpected.

Memories began flooding his brain of the deceased loved one staring at him at this very moment; memories that haunted him till this day.

Jamaya..." he breathed out shakily, whilst clenching onto his polo shirt.

Jamaya titled her head whilst a pernicious smile crept upon her blurry face.

Hiya brother!" she squealed in a high-pitch voice with fake enthusiasm.

Tears welled up in Jimmy's eyes as he fell forcefully to his knees and began pleading. It's been 5 years since her last visit. Years that have lead him to believe she had finally forgave him and decided to finally rest in peace ...

She watched down at her tear stained-face brother with a mischievous expression and waved her finger in a left to right motion before pulling it to her lips and ushering a 'shhhhh'.

Jimmy held his head in both hands as he began to shake it vigorously. "No! No! No! Nooo please Jamaya pleassseee!" he screamed. He knew what was about to happen.

Her giggles filled the room as her eyes; shining with a dangerous gleam, lingered over the house phone.

The phone rang then stopped. It rang again before stopping once again. An ear-splitting laugh thundered throughout the house as she vanished into thin air; particles of white dust dispersed everywhere.

Immediately, the once absent electricity returned; lit bulbs illuminated the once pitchy house.

Weakly, Jimmy traveled along the walls of the hallway, leaning against it for support. His lega feeling heavier and heavier with every step.

He fell to his knees upon seeing the demised bodies of his girlfriend and bestfriend. Cascading tears drenched his pale face as he clunged tightly to the wall. It was then and there that he knew what his last resort would be. He couldn't escape this nightmare.

Miserable and lifeless, he dragged himself into the kitchen, returning with a knife; its tip slightly curved and sharp.

Jamaya you win..." he croaked out, "First mom, then dad...now..." he shut his eyes closed and allowed the tears to flow. "I don't want to go through this again!"

After these words slipped from his mouth, crimson blood splattered onto the now stained lilac wall, followed by a loud thump onto the floor.

***

A bright white light blurred his vision for a brief moment whilst hushed voices filled his ear. Was he dead? No, unfortunately not.

After a few attempts to regain his vision by fluttering his eye lids, he gazed into the relief eyes of blue masked humans.

In his peripheral view, he saw her and immediately began sobbing. He began shaking his head uncontrollably; rage and sorrow taking over his body. As more doctors rushed to his side. In his slightly blurred vision, her face held a cheek to cheek, toothy grin before she disappeared.

With his back arched and his hands into tight fists, with every bit of energy within him, Jimmy screamed out.

"JAMAYAAAAA!!!!!"

Sometimes clients book for a logo only. But your logo is only one piece of the puzzle. It's just a small fraction of what your branding actually is.

That's why I created a three-tier Visual Identity Design Package structure, to ensure businesses of different sizes, needs, and budgets can access professional visual identity design services while choosing the level of support that best fits their goals.

It was really important to me that these packages felt accessible and accommodating. I understand that not every business is in the same place, and branding isn't a one-size-fits-all investment.

A visual identity is the visual foundation of your brand. It helps people recognize, remember, and trust your business through the consistent use of logos, colours, typography, and other visual elements.

Also, I genuinely believe in being transparent about my pricing. As someone who likes to budget before making an investment, I know how helpful it is to have pricing available upfront. My goal is to help potential clients determine whether Nevative Studio fits within their budget and business goals. 🤗

Which stage best describes your business right now: starting, growing, or ready to scale? 👇

Your branding is often the first impression people have of your business.

Before someone sends a message, makes a purchase, or visits your location, they're already forming opinions based on what they see.

Strong branding helps people recognize your business, remember it, and feel more confident choosing you. It's not just about looking good, it's about communicating clearly and creating trust.

If your business isn't getting the attention or recognition you hoped for, it may be worth taking a closer look at how your brand is showing up.

Small changes can make a big difference over time.
