■□■ Electrical measuring devices are essential tools for testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems. Among the most common are the Megger, Ohm meter, and Teleflex SX, each serving a specific role:
■ Megger (Insulation Resistance Tester):
Used to measure the insulation resistance of electrical cables, transformers, and equipment. It applies a high DC voltage and indicates the resistance value in megaohms, helping detect insulation deterioration, moisture, or faults.
■ Ohm Meter (Resistance Meter):
A basic device that measures the electrical resistance of a conductor, winding, or circuit. It operates by passing a small current through the component and reading the voltage drop, displaying resistance in ohms.
■ Teleflex SX (Cable Fault Locator):
A time-domain reflectometer (TDR) system used for pinpointing cable faults. It sends test pulses into the cable and analyzes reflections caused by impedance changes, allowing precise location of short circuits, open circuits, and high-resistance faults without damaging the cable.

■ factory acceptance test
Resonance AC test for medium voltage power cable according to IEC
● 3.5 * rated voltage ( phase to ground)
● 12/20 kV cable is tested at 42 kV for 5 minutes ( acceptance factory test)
● partial discharge test for 1 minute at 1.7* rated voltage (phase to ground)
So, tested at 20 kV
Accepted if below 10 Pico coloumb
