Today, I had the opportunity to attend the 6th Global Forum on Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance (IEFB), organized under the Khurshid Ahmad Institute of Islamic Economics and Finance at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore. The forum focused on “Transitioning from Conventional to Islamic Banks: Best Global Practices and the Way Forward.

I was also honored to serve as a session chair in one of the conference sessions, which proved to be a highly enriching and valuable experience.

A particularly encouraging aspect of the conference was that four of my BS-level students presented their research papers. I have recently joined the School of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (SIEBF) at Minhaj University Lahore, and this experience further strengthened my belief that students possess strong potential and capability. With effective facilitation, mentorship, and proper training, they can quickly develop into competent researchers and presenters.

Overall, it was a rewarding experience, both professionally and academically. I extend my sincere congratulations to the entire organizing team for successfully conducting such a meaningful and impactful forum.
