Mijas Matters
Mijas Matters is an information page about the Municipality and the Costa del Sol area. If it is happening in Mijas, it matters.
The Avates association is appealing for support for a humanitarian aid campaign for Venezuela.
We are organising a collection of essential items, which will be sent to Cáritas in Caracas, from where they will be distributed to the communities most affected.
The following items are particularly needed: 🥫 Non-perishable food and tinned food.
🧴 Personal hygiene products.
💊 Medicines.
🩹 Medical, first-aid and orthopaedic supplies (gauze, bandages, crutches, corsets, etc.).
💧 Bottled water.
📦 The collection of items will begin on Monday at 7.30 pm at:
Polígono Industrial La Torre, Camino Minerva nº 16, Mijas.
Next to La Fuente restaurant
Anyone wishing to contribute financially can do so by making a deposit or bank transfer to the following bank account:
IBAN: ES94 0182 7115 5402 0163 9588
Reference: Aid for Venezuela
It is very important to include this reference to ensure the donation is correctly identified. All funds received in this account will be allocated in full to humanitarian aid for Venezuela.
Here at AVATES, we encourage everyone to contribute as much as they can. Any contribution, however small, will help to bring aid to those who need it most.
Thank you very much for your solidarity.

A few days ago, we visited the Los Perales industrial park and found a situation that cannot continue to be ignored: roads in poor condition, concerns about drainage, and local businesses calling for long-overdue improvements.
Mijas cannot turn its back on an area that creates jobs and supports the local economy. Los Perales deserves safe infrastructure, proper maintenance, and the attention it needs.
