Reports of Alleged Attack on Student at Jinka University Raise Concerns His name is Lam Nyang Weng.

Attack involving a student from the Gambella region at Jinka University has sparked concern among fellow students and community members, although authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident.

On campus, both the victim and the alleged attacker were enrolled in a remedial program at Jinka University and had previously shared a room together.

That tensions between the two began in February 2026. the Gambella student repeatedly complained that his roommate would take his study notes and pieces of paper without permission and use them for inappropriate purposes. Sources allege that whenever the Gambella student attempted to stop him or question his actions, arguments would follow, often escalating into insults and confrontations.

The dispute reportedly led to a physical fight between the two students earlier this year. Following that incident, university authorities are said to have separated them by moving the Gambella student to a different room. the two had no further physical confrontations after being separated.

They gone for months without any major disputes and that final examinations were nearing completion. Many students were reportedly preparing to leave the campus and return to their respective regions after finishing the remedial program.

However, on the evening of June 7, 2026, a new incident allegedly occurred. The Gambella student went to the university cafeteria at 6:15 p.m., unaware that he would be attacked. the former roommate approached him from behind while he was seated and struck him on the head with a large stone.

The injured student was reportedly rushed to a hospital for urgent medical treatment. At the time of publication, students and members of the Gambella community were still waiting for updates regarding his condition.
