Concrete Slump Test & Slump Values

The concrete slump test is used on construction sites to check the workability and consistency of fresh concrete. A slump cone is filled with concrete, then lifted vertically to measure how much the concrete settles.

Low slump → Stiff concrete, less workable

Medium slump → Normal workable concrete

High slump → More fluid concrete, easier to place

Very high slump → Excess water may cause segregation

Typical slump range for normal RCC work: 75–100 mm.
