CIVA MUSICAL GROUP PROFILE
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Civa Musical Group was formed on 20th of August, 2014. It was a collective idea of every member to form a band where everyone collectively agrees to name this Musical Dance Band Group as CIVA.
The name CIVA is the Fijian Indigenous Translation name of a Pearl. As we know that Pearl is understood to be one of the best precious objects in the world.
The members of the CIVA MUSICAL GROUP is a conglomerate of young Fijian Indigenous Youth from various part of Fiji who all went through a two year course training program that was Designed, implemented and Taylor made by the Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports called the National Youth Band Program to cater to young talented youth with musical Talents who were dropped out from the formal Education system. These raw musical talented Youth, according to their wish then went through this two years Training Program through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and came out as graduated students of the National Youth Band Program (NYB), with equivalent syllabus (at Certificate level in Music) as FNU and USP.
Therefore, all members of the CIVA MUSICAL GROUP were the fine product of the National Youth Band (NYB) two years Training Program and were also part of the core team of the NYB Dance Band during the time of their training, while few of them were pioneers of the NYB Dance Band since the year 2002.
The initial incentive of forming the CIVA Musical Group is to have it as one way of reuniting all Ex-scholars of the NYB program who have been finding Jobs elsewhere. While forming this CIVA Musical Group, the members have also identified other opportunities the project may bring about, thus, a new strategy is in place to run as an integrated Business Project with the integrated Business Project name as CIVA MUSICAL PROJECT (CMP)
